New Age Teachings Disguised as Christianity: A Testimony of Discernment, Deception, and Returning to Truth

The Season I Didn’t Realize I Was Mixing Faith With Counterfeits
I thought I was growing spiritually. I thought I was becoming more enlightened. I thought I was becoming more “in tune.”
But I was mixing:
-
manifestation with prayer
-
energy with the Holy Spirit
-
intuition with discernment
-
universe language with God
-
self-worship with self-care
-
astrology with identity
-
crystals with faith
-
vibes with spiritual warfare
It felt spiritual. It felt empowering. It felt harmless.
But it wasn’t biblical.
One day, God whispered:
“You’re adding ingredients I never put in the recipe.”
And I realized I was blending light with darkness.
How New Age Disguises Itself as Christianity
1. It uses Christian language with different meaning.
“Energy” instead of “spirit.” “Manifest” instead of “pray.” “Universe” instead of “God.”
2. It centers self instead of Christ.
You become your own source.
3. It removes repentance.
Everything is about “alignment,” not holiness.
4. It replaces Scripture with intuition.
Feelings become truth.
5. It offers power without submission.
You get spirituality without accountability.
What God Taught Me
1. Truth doesn’t need mixture.
God’s Word is enough.
2. Discernment is protection.
Not everything spiritual is from God.
3. The Holy Spirit is not “energy.”
He is a Person — not a force.
4. Christianity is not self-worship.
It is surrender.
5. Freedom comes from truth, not trends.
New Age enslaves. Jesus frees.
What You Can Take From This
If it mixes Jesus with anything else — it’s not Jesus.
