Spiritual Warfare Prayers for Your Children
Parents naturally want to protect their children: from danger, harm, bad influences, and anything that would pull them away from God. While we can't control everything our kids face, we can cover them in prayer. These prayers are meant to bring peace, not fear. Our children are held by a God who is far greater than anything that comes against them.
Isaiah 54:13: "And all thy children shall be taught of the LORD; and great shall be the peace of thy children."
Isaiah 54:17: "No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper."
For protection
Psalm 91:11: "For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways."
Lord, give Your angels charge over my children. Protect them at home, at school, on the road, and everywhere they go. Guard their bodies, minds, and hearts from every harm. Amen.
Against fear and nightmares
Father, when my child is afraid at night, fill their room with Your peace. Replace fear with comfort, and give them sweet, restful sleep. Remind them that You are always with them, even in the dark. Amen.
Tip: Teach younger kids a simple prayer they can say themselves: "Jesus, You are with me. I am safe in You."
For safety online
Lord, protect my children from harmful content, online predators, cyberbullying, and anything that would damage their minds or hearts. Give me wisdom to set good boundaries, and give them courage to come to me when something feels wrong. Amen.
Against peer pressure
Father, give my children the courage to stand firm in what's right. Lead them to godly friends. When temptation comes, show them the way of escape (1 Corinthians 10:13). Amen.
For their identity
Lord, when the world tells my children who they should be, help them hear You louder. Let them know they are chosen, loved, and claimed by You. Silence every lie about their worth. Amen.
For their hearts and faith
Father, draw my children to You. Let them know You personally, not just through me. Guard their faith through every season, and if they wander, bring them back. Amen.
Speaking peace over them
Pray over your children while they sleep, at their doorways, or with a hand on their shoulder. A soft Christian night light with a verse can comfort children who are afraid of the dark, and our kids' Christian apparel reminds them who they belong to.
