Why “Trust the Universe” Is Spiritually Harmful: A Testimony of Truth, Identity, and Returning to God

The Phrase That Slowly Replaced My Faith
I used to say:
-
“Trust the universe.”
-
“The universe has my back.”
-
“The universe is aligning things.”
-
“The universe is sending signs.”
It felt empowering. It felt spiritual. It felt comforting.
But it wasn’t truth.
One day, God whispered:
“You’re trusting something that cannot speak, cannot save, and cannot love you.”
And I realized I had replaced God with a concept.
Why “Trust the Universe” Is Spiritually Harmful
1. It gives creation God’s role.
The universe is not sovereign.
2. It removes accountability.
You can’t rebel against a universe.
3. It replaces relationship with vagueness.
You cannot know or be known by the universe.
4. It leads to spiritual confusion.
You start mixing beliefs.
5. It opens the door to New Age deception.
It sounds harmless — but it’s not biblical.
What God Taught Me
1. Trust belongs to God alone.
Not concepts. Not energy. Not the universe.
2. God is personal.
He speaks. He guides. He loves. He corrects. He protects.
3. God is sovereign.
He orchestrates your life — not the stars.
4. God is intentional.
Nothing in your life is random.
5. God wants relationship, not distance.
“Trust the universe” keeps Him far away.
What You Can Take From This
The universe is not your guide. The universe is not your protector. The universe is not your source.
God is.
