Four-week group guide
For senior adult groups, Sunday school classes, or grandparents getting together over coffee. About 45–60 minutes each.
Week 1 · Your story matters
Read: Psalm 78:1–7
- Who passed faith on to you?
- What’s one story of God’s faithfulness your grandchildren should hear?
- Why do stories often reach kids better than lessons?
Practice: Each person tells one short story of God’s faithfulness to the group.
Week 2 · Lois and the parents
Read: 2 Timothy 1:3–5; Ephesians 6:4
- What does it look like to support parents rather than override them?
- What’s hard about this for you?
- If your grandchildren’s parents don’t share your faith, how can your life speak?
Practice: Pray for each other’s grandchildren’s parents by name.
Week 3 · Prayer and blessing
Read: Job 1:5; Numbers 6:22–27
- How do you pray for your grandchildren now?
- Have you ever been blessed out loud by an elder? What did it mean?
- Which grandchild needs your prayers most right now?
Practice: Practice saying Numbers 6:24–26 aloud together.
Week 4 · Hand it on
Read: Psalm 71:17–18; Psalm 92:12–15
- What do you want your grandchildren to know after you’re gone?
- What fruit might God still want to grow in you in this season?
- Who in your life is drifting or estranged, and how can we pray?
Practice: Start a Faith Letter for one grandchild, using the prompt card.
