Prayers for Jamaica and the Caribbean

Jamaica and the islands of the Caribbean are full of beauty, faith, music, resilience, and community. They also face real challenges: powerful storms, economic hardship, and families separated by distance as loved ones work abroad. These prayers lift up the people of Jamaica and the wider Caribbean, and the many families with roots there.

Psalm 46:1: "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble."

For families rebuilding

Lord, comfort every family rebuilding after storms and loss. Restore homes, livelihoods, and hope. Provide shelter, food, clean water, and medical care where it's needed. Be their refuge and strength. Amen.

For the children

Father, protect the children of Jamaica and the Caribbean. Give them safe homes, good schools, healthy food, and adults who love and guide them. Let them grow up knowing they are loved and chosen by You. Amen.

For the churches

Lord, thank You for the strong faith of so many churches across the islands. Strengthen pastors and congregations as they care for their communities. Let them be places of hope, healing, and practical help. Amen.

For leaders

Father, give wisdom, integrity, and compassion to leaders across the Caribbean. Help them serve their people well, especially the poor and vulnerable. Amen.

For provision and opportunity

Lord, open doors for work, education, and growth. Bless small businesses, farmers, fishermen, and families working hard to provide. Amen.

For the diaspora

Father, bless every Jamaican and Caribbean family living abroad: those who left to work, study, or build a better life. Comfort those who miss home. Strengthen families separated by distance. Bless every gift and remittance sent home. Amen.

For safety and peace

Lord, protect communities from violence and danger. Bring peace to every neighborhood, and raise up people who work for justice and safety. Amen.
