Prayers for Pets and Their Healing

Our pets are family. When they're sick, lost, aging, or near the end, it's natural to bring them to God in prayer. Scripture reminds us that God cares for every creature He made.

Psalm 145:9: "The LORD is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works."

For a sick pet

Lord, my pet is sick, and I'm worried. You made every creature and care for them. Please bring healing and relief from pain. Guide our vet with wisdom. Give me peace as I care for them. Amen.

Before surgery or treatment

Father, I place my pet in Your hands. Guide the veterinarian and staff. Protect my pet during surgery and help them recover quickly and comfortably. Amen.

For a lost pet

Lord, my pet is missing, and my heart is aching. You see every place they could be. Keep them safe, lead them home, or lead kind people to find them. Give me hope and wisdom as I search. Amen.

For a new pet

Thank You, Lord, for this new member of our family. Help us care for them well. Bless our home with their joy and companionship. Help them settle in safely and happily. Amen.

For an aging companion

Father, my pet is getting older and slowing down. Thank You for every year we've had together. Keep them comfortable, and help me cherish the time we have left. Give me wisdom for the decisions ahead. Amen.

When it's time to say goodbye

Lord, this is so hard. Thank You for the love, loyalty, and joy my pet brought into my life. Give me wisdom and peace about this decision, and comfort me as I grieve. Help me remember the happy days. Amen.

A blessing for your pet

Lord, bless this animal You created. Keep them healthy, safe, and happy. Thank You for the way they show us love, joy, and faithfulness. Amen.
