3 A.M.

For when you can’t sleep and your mind won’t stop. Turn your brightness down. Stay as long as you need.

First, breathe

Tap start, then follow the light.

A psalm for right now

Empty your mind

What’s keeping you up?

Write it all out. Nothing here is saved or sent anywhere.

“Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”

1 Peter 5:7 (NIV)

It’ll still be there in the morning, and so will He. You don’t have to solve it tonight.

Pray this, slowly

Lord, it’s late, and my mind is loud. You don’t sleep, so I can. I hand You what I can’t fix tonight. Quiet my thoughts, slow my heart, and watch over the people I love. I’ll trust You with tomorrow. Amen.

Gentle sleep tips
  • Put your phone face down after this, and try not to check the clock.
  • If you’ve been awake a long time, get up in dim light, do something calm, and go back when you feel sleepy.
  • Keep your room cool, dark and quiet.
  • If you can’t sleep most nights, talk to your doctor. Insomnia is common and treatable.
If it’s more than worry tonight: if you’re thinking about ending your life or don’t feel safe, call or text 988 right now, any hour. If you’re in danger, call 911. You don’t have to wait until morning.
