It’s 2 a.m. Mom is on a breathing machine. The doctor needs a decision. Your brother says “do everything.” Your sister says “she told me she never wanted this.” Nobody has anything in writing. This is one of the most painful places a family can be, and most of it can be prevented with one conversation and two documents.
