Catfished by the DevilLearning the bait & switch that gets Christians every time

Temptation never shows up looking like what it really is. It shows up with a glow-up, a great bio and perfect lighting. Same trick since the garden: the fruit was “pleasing to the eye” (Genesis 3:6). Swipe through the profiles, then see who actually showed up.

Plot twist: not every profile is a catfish. Some of God’s best gifts have pretty boring bios.

Not every struggle is a bad swipe. Anxiety, depression and addiction are real health issues, not just temptations to resist. If you’re not okay, call or text 988. For addiction, SAMHSA’s free, confidential helpline is 1-800-662-4357. Teens, tell a parent or another trusted adult; you’re not in trouble for asking for help.

Built on Genesis 3, James 1:14–15, 1 Corinthians 10:13 and Jesus in the wilderness (Matthew 4:1–11). The devil sets the bait, but James is clear that we’re pulled by our own desires, so this game is about wising up, not passing the blame.
