Tap the things you’re packing so you feel at home in both places:
🛡️ Always remember: If anyone at either home hurts you, scares you or makes you feel unsafe, tell a safe grown-up right away, like a teacher, school counselor or grandparent. It is never your fault. In an emergency, call 911.
👨👩👧 Grown-ups: Kids do best when they hear “it’s not your fault,” are never asked to carry messages or choose sides, and can freely love both parents. For more, see Blended & Blessed. If you’re worried about a child’s safety, call or text the Childhelp National Child Abuse Hotline at 1-800-422-4453. If home isn’t safe for you, call or text the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-7233 (or text START to 88788).
