Two Truths and a Heresy

The party game where one statement is lying, and it’s been lying since the 4th century.

Each round has three statements about God. Two are true. One is a heresy: an error the church caught centuries ago that keeps sneaking back, usually through a Sunday school analogy, a viral post, or your cousin’s podcast. Find the impostor, then see its mugshot.

“Contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints.”Jude 3

What counts as heresy here? Only errors rejected across the whole historic church: Catholic, Orthodox and Protestant alike. Nothing here is about baptism, worship style, end-times charts or which translation you read. Those are family conversations. These are the ones the whole family agreed on.

Built on Jude 3, 1 Timothy 4:16, 2 Timothy 4:3–4, Galatians 1:6–9, 1 John 4:1–3 and the historic creeds the whole church shares. Scripture quoted from the World English Bible (public domain). Every analogy for the Trinity eventually falls short. That’s not a bug. God is bigger than our metaphors.
