“Jesus wept.”John 11:35

Why, God?

Honest answers to the hardest question people ask about faith: why does a good God allow suffering?

Cancer in a child. A drunk driver. A flood. A miscarriage. A war. If God is good and all-powerful, why? Christians have wrestled with this for thousands of years, and the Bible doesn’t dodge it. Job, the Psalms, Habakkuk and Lamentations all ask it out loud. There’s no answer that makes the pain small. But there are real, honest answers, and a God who didn’t stay distant from suffering. He entered it.

If you’re suffering right now, you may not need an argument. You may need comfort. Start with Christ in Crisis or Pray With Me, and come back to the “why” when you’re ready.
